The Board of Investments (BOI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in March 29, with the Adamson University that aims to address job mismatches, and strengthen the industry-academic linkage that would help develop a globally competitive labor force in the Philippines.
According to an earlier citation from the Philippine Business for Education (PBEd), job mismatches opted to be one of the societal issues pressing in the labor market due to recent technological breakthroughs that leads to higher unemployment rates in our country.
At the said partnership, the declaration of the linkage was said to primarily allot its cooperation in aide of resolving the said issue with research and development, technology-pitching, reversed technology pitching and capacity-building activities for its beneficiaries, which are the academic staffs and students.
The partnership was formalized through the signing of the AdU Principal, Fr. Marcelo V. Manimtim, and Undersecretary Rodolfo.
On a statement BOI Managing Head and Trade Undersecretary, Ceferino Rodolfo introduced the aims adapting to the future’s skill requirements and as well as close the gaps in the industry value chains.
Fr. Manimtim afterward, expressed his gratitude for the offer on signing the BOI, as it would provide opportunities to present its products and technologies, possible for adoption on the local industries.
“We are particularly grateful to Bureau of Investments for choosing us for this opportunity.” Fr. Manimtim said.
Earlier alike to Adamson University, BOI also signed a MOU with Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in November 2020, that on the other hand aims to capacitate Philippine workforce and strengthen industry academe linkages, through technical trainings, internships, and skill retooling or retraining programs and such, that’d branch out to particular learning institutes.
The partnership of AdU and BOI, came into limelight due to its previous agreements with CHED, aiming to out for universities to collaborate, which still in alignment with the objective to tackle the concurring objective of strengthening the Filipino workforces.
