HOW TO: 11 Easy Steps to Make Resin Bookmarks

A bookmark is a convenient and straightforward tool, for every readers. One of the important things you may have while reading is that you have your own at your side when you might want to take a break from reading.


However, what if you don't have your OWN bookmark? How can you make one at home?


For all the bookworms out there, it's your sign to make your own bookmark to be paired with your favorite books as a treat for yourself. Just follow these easy step-by-step procedures below.



Materials Needed:

  • Epoxy Resin

  • Epoxy Hardener

  • Tassel

  • Bookmark Molder

  • Silicone Measuring Cup

  • Leaf Foil

  • Mica Powder

  • Dried Flowers


Procedures:

1. Put on your gloves to avoid the harmful effects of the epoxy on your skin.

2. In the small silicone measuring cup, pour in 60% of the resin and 40% of hardener.

3. Slowly mix the resin and hardener for 2-3 minutes and if there are bubbles, you may use a lighter to remove them.

4. After mixing the resin and hardener, you may add any color of mica powder.

5. Clean and prepare the molder.

6. Slowly pour the mixture into the rectangle bookmark mold.

7. Once it is all set in the molder, you can add a dried flower or leaf foil to make your own design.

8. Place the bookmark in a clean area or you may cover it with foil and leave it for 12–24 hours. Resin takes time to fully set or cure.

9. The next day, if the resin is already cured, slowly remove it from the molder.

10. After removing it from the molder, put the tassel in the hole of the bookmark.

11. The last step is to clean the bookmark using alcohol, and after that it is ready to use.
