The Adamson University Soaring Falcons have had their share of losses in the first round of the UAAP Season 84 with a standing of 1 - 6, but they are optimistic and determined for a powerful comeback in the second round.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Jerom Lastimosa, one of Adamson's top players, expressed his views on the team's five losses, all of which were by three points or less – "Siguro nagrelax kami sa depensa namin.”
However, the Soaring Falcon’s Head Coach, Nash Racela, kept an optimistic approach within their team’s current standing, in reference to all of their loses mostly being held in clutch, saying it could’ve been 5-2 the other way around.
"-That should give us motivation going into the second round," Coach Racela quoted.
Coach Racela believed that their current setbacks don’t suffice for reason to give up, but as an opportunity to improve strategies for the next challenge.
“In the upcoming second round, we were expecting that things would show a discrepancy,” Coach Racela said.
Going onto the second round, the Adamson University Soaring Falcons then, defeated the FEU Tamaraws in their first game of the second round with a final score of 64-63 after Matty Erolon scored the winning shots in the last 12 seconds of the game.
The first quarter ended with a score of 21-12, the second quarter with a score of 38-34, the third quarter with a score of 50-50, and the fourth quarter with a score of 64-63.
Adamson moved to 2-6 in the team rankings with the win, while FEU dropped to 3-5 with its second consecutive loss.
Adamson is ready to conquer the second round and will be facing UP in their next game on April 21st.
